Hooksett Town Council approves grants, bids, appropriations report

NH HOOKSETT — Hooksett Town Council accepts $5,000 environmental grant and approves two municipal building support contracts. The Council voted unanimously to accept the New Hampshire The Beautiful grant for the town's recycling program and awarded two-year HVAC and plumbing support to Northern Peabody, LLC, the sole bidder opened February 27, and electrical support to Denis co Electric with a backup vendor option. Council also approved signing the 2026 MS-232 Report of Appropriations Actually Voted totaling $26,241,740, which Finance Director Christine Tewksbury said will raise the estimated town property tax share to $4.85 from $4.28 in 2025 — a 57-cent increase driven primarily by capital reserves approved at the March 10 election.
A road striping contract for $33,328.99 passed 6-1 with Councilor Roger Duhaime opposed.
