NH HOOKSETT — Hooksett Town Council unanimously approved two budget transfers totaling $94,830 to address shortfalls in health insurance and winter road maintenance. Finance Director Christine Tewksbury reported 2026 health insurance premiums rose 14.5 percent, double the anticipated 6 percent increase, requiring a $26,000 transfer from vacant positions. A second $68,830 transfer covered road maintenance overtime after 24 storm events — seven above the three-year average — with 14 occurring on weekends or holidays.
The Council also unanimously amended the Personnel Plan to permit Town Councilors 24/7 access to the Municipal Offices building for official duties, updated website references, and modified disability insurance policy language.
