NH HOOKSETT — Hooksett Council schedules July 8 hearing on Elm Grove housing grant. The town voted 6-0 to hold a public hearing on a Community Development Block Grant application for up to $750,000 to fund affordable housing improvements at the Residences at River Hill, converting 74 units to fully affordable housing with six new studio apartments created from basement storage space. The town receives $30,000 in grant administration fees with no financial exposure.

In other business, the council approved Bass Pro Shop's secondhand dealer's license 5-1 despite Police Chief Justin Sargent's concerns about inconsistent enforcement of the ordinance among firearms dealers in town.
